The Tax Manager position is accountable for the federal income tax and multi-state income tax compliance for the company. The tax manager will ensure the timely and accurate filing of all income tax returns. The Tax Manager will maintain and manage the federal and state income tax compliance software.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for federal income tax and multi-state compliance functions and ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all income tax returns.
  • Maintaining and managing the federal and state income tax compliance software.
  • Ensure the accuracy of estimated and extension income tax payment calculations and the timely filings of the related returns and vouchers.
  • Research and analysis related to complex tax issues reflected on a federal consolidated income tax return, including consolidated return issues, and tax accounting issues.
  • Perform assigned projects involving research and planning to minimize the Company’s federal and state income/franchise tax burdens.
  • Assist with state income tax audits by state taxing agencies.
  • Account for income taxes, including tax provision preparation, tax account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Develop and maintain broad and in-depth technical knowledge and skills in the federal and state income tax fields that are necessary to effectively manage the Company’s tax compliance and tax planning functions.
  • Resolve income tax related issues as they relate to the accounting general ledger and for income tax related journal entries.
  • GL duties, including account reconciliation, financial reporting, and tax/book depreciation.
  • Manage third party filing of payroll taxes.
  • Research, analysis and develop reporting and metrics on operations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Certified Public Account (CPA) and /or Masters in Tax strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of income tax experience at a public accounting firm or in a corporate tax department.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external personnel
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including strong MS Excel skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and research skills.
  • Solid leadership skills and ability to prioritize
  • Familiarity with various tax-related software.
